    Microbial Source Tracking and Fecal Detection
We recommend that clients use two or more tests simultaneously in order to achieve greater sensitivity and reliability with the results, particularly with regard to negative results. Each test serves as a counter check with the other tests by targeting a different indicator organism.

Below are highlights of the services mentioned above.

The Human Bacteroidetes IDservice uses PCR DNA technology to determine the presence of human fecal contamination. The service targets fecal Bacteroidetes that are found in humans.

The Human Bacteroidetes "Quantification" IDservice uses "real-time" quantification PCR DNA analytical technology to determine the presence and quantity of human fecal contamination. The service targets and quantifies gene biomarkers specific to fecal Bacteroidetes from human sources.

The Human Enterococcus IDservice uses PCR DNA analytical technology to determine the presence and quantity of human fecal contamination. The service targets gene biomarkers specific to Enterococci from human sources.

The Human Enterococcus "Quantification" ID service uses "real-time" quantification PCR DNA analytical technology to determine the presence and quantity of human fecal contamination. The service targets and quantifies gene biomarkers specific to Enterococci from human sources.

The Human Urine Virus ID service uses a DNA analytical technology with a rapid turnaround service that detects simultaneously the presence of human polyomavirus.

The Human Fecal Virus ID service uses a DNA analytical technology called reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). This rapid turnaround service (results in a little as 2 working days) detects simultaneously the presence of human fecal contamination and human viruses.
