Source Molecular Corporation is a team of scientists and business professionals with experience in genetic and molecular sciences. The company is dedicated to the field of
microbial source tracking using the most advanced molecular and biological techniques.
Source Molecular works with individuals involved with surface water run-off, groundwater remediation/protection, surface water quality, bacterial/microbial/fecal source tracking, causes of water pollution (including
point and
non-point sources) and
E. coli/Enterococcus/Giardia source identification. Quality control is maintained with the latest scientific laboratory equipment and highly trained, degreed personnel.
Source Molecular uses scientifically rigorous (i.e. published and peer-reviewed) genetic and molecular analytical methods that enable it to identify with high confidence sources of
microbial contamination.
Clients are encouraged to adopt a toolbox approach with the services offered by
Source Molecular. When targeting a specific source of
fecal pollution, it is recommended to combine two or more tests in a toolbox fashion. This will increase the sensitivity and the reliability of the results.

The
Human Enterococcus ID™ service uses PCR DNA analytical technology to determine the presence of human
fecal contamination. The service targets the Enterococcus faecium human gene biomarker. It is an excellent tool for surface water run off and
point sources of water pollution.
Human Fecal Virus ID™ service uses a DNA analytical technology called reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). This rapid turnaround service (results in a little as 2 working days) detects simultaneously the presence of human
fecal contamination and human viruses. Like the Human Enterococcus test, it is an excellent tool for surface water run off and
point sources of water pollution.
The
Cow Fecal Virus ID™ and
Pig Fecal Virus ID™ services use a DNA analytical technology called reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). These rapid turnaround services (results in a little as 2 working days) detect respectively the presence of cattle and swine
fecal contamination and cattle and swine viruses. Like the tests stated in the previous paragraph, these tests are excellent for determining
non-point sources of water pollution.
The
Human Bacteroiodetes ID™ and
Cow Bacteroidetes ID™ services use PCR DNA technology to determine respectively the presence of human and cattle
fecal contamination. The services target Bacteroidetes that are present in humans and cattle. These tests are excellent for determining recent forms of
fecal pollution and ground water remediation / protection.
