Important: We encourage clients to combine one or more of these tests for greater sensitivity and confirmation of results. Please call (786) 220-0379 for recommendations.
Please note that the E. coli ID™ service is not offered on a stand alone basis. It is offered in conjunction with the E. coli Comparison ID™ service. In order to use this service, a minimum of 200 E. coli isolates from water/soil and reference samples must be analyzed.
Part I (DNA fingerprinting of water/soil and reference samples):
E. coli ID™ : DNA ribotyping (i.e. DNA fingerprinting) analysis of 5 or more E. coli isolates per sample. The E. coli isolates are also compared to an internal library of E. coli strains to indicate a probable source, either human or animal (or both).
$450 / sample*,
@Note: Cost breakdown of the E. coli ID™ service is $90 per isolate. 5 isolates X $90 = $450 per sample. A full DNA fingerprinting analysis is performed on each isolate. Additional isolates can be analyzed from the same sample at $90 per isolate. Four or fewer E. coli isolates can also be analyzed at $120 per isolate.
Note: Samples that have insufficient E. coli are charged a cancellation fee of $50 per sample.
Part II (DNA fingerprinting comparison analysis of the E. coli isolates from Part I to determine possible matches):
E. coli Comparison ID™ : DNA comparative analysis of the E. coli isolates from fecal and water or sediment sources. Service may also be used to analyze potential clonal regrowth patterns of E. coli from water and sediment sources.
$12 / isolate*,@
Crypto ID™ : DNA fingerprinting of species and strains including: C. hominis, C. parvum, C. andersoni, C. muris, C. felis, C. canis, C. wrairi, C. meleagridis, C. baileyi, C. galli, C. serpentis, C. saurophilum, C. molnari and C. nasorum.
$450 / species or strain*,% 5-14 days(+) (minimum 2 paying samples per test)
Service determines sources of contamination.
Giardia ID™: DNA fingerprinting of Giardia species and strains including: G. duodenalis (aka G. lamblia or G. intestinalis), G. muris, G. agilis, G. psittaci and G. ardeae.
$450 / species or strain*,% 5-14 days(+) (minimum 2 paying samples per test)
Service determines sources of Giardia contamination.
